Meet Dr. Uma Yarlagadda ("Dr. Y")
For more than 25 years, I have had the privilege of helping children, adolescents, and families navigate life's challenges and build healthier, more fulfilling lives. My approach is centered on listening, understanding each person's unique story, and partnering with families to create individualized treatment plans that support emotional well-being and growth.
Before starting my private practice, I served at Cook Children’s Health Care System in Fort Worth, Texas, from 2006 to 2018. During that time, I cared for medically fragile children and adolescents and was honored to serve as Medical Director of Psychiatry for five years.
I completed my Adult Psychiatry Residency at Henry Ford Health System and my Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Michigan. I am board certified in both Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Outside of my practice, I enjoy spending time with my family and staying active. Reading, playing pickleball, practicing Pilates, exercising, trekking, and exploring our National Parks are some of my favorite things to do.
I believe that maintaining balance, staying connected to the things we enjoy, and making time for self-care are important parts of overall well-being—values I strive to encourage in my patients and their families.
As a wife, mother, and physician, I understand the joys and challenges that come with balancing family, work, and personal well-being.
I look forward to helping you and your family find the support, understanding, and tools needed to thrive.

Meet Mrs. Dana Leatherwood, PMH-NP
For nearly 30 years, I have had the privilege of caring for children, adolescents, and their families in outpatient, hospital, and school-based psychiatric settings. My goal is to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel heard, supported, and empowered to achieve their best emotional health.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Christian University and my Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and brief supportive therapy for children and adolescents with a wide range of mental health concerns, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and crisis-related conditions.
I believe every child is unique, and I tailor treatment plans to meet each patient's individual needs by combining evidence-based medication management, therapeutic support, and healthy lifestyle strategies.
Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband, two grown daughters, and three grandsons. I also love traveling, exploring beautiful places, and creating fused glass artwork.
I look forward to partnering with you and your family to provide compassionate, personalized care and help your child thrive.
