Meet Dr. Uma Yarlagadda ("Dr. Y")

  • For more than 25 years, I have had the privilege of helping children, adolescents, and families navigate life's challenges and build healthier, more fulfilling lives. My approach is centered on listening, understanding each person's unique story, and partnering with families to create individualized treatment plans that support emotional well-being and growth.

  • Before starting my private practice, I served at Cook Children’s Health Care System in Fort Worth, Texas, from 2006 to 2018. During that time, I cared for medically fragile children and adolescents and was honored to serve as Medical Director of Psychiatry for five years.

  • I completed my Adult Psychiatry Residency at Henry Ford Health System and my Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Michigan. I am board certified in both Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

  • Outside of my practice, I enjoy spending time with my family and staying active. Reading, playing pickleball, practicing Pilates, exercising, trekking, and exploring our National Parks are some of my favorite things to do.

  • I believe that maintaining balance, staying connected to the things we enjoy, and making time for self-care are important parts of overall well-being—values I strive to encourage in my patients and their families.

  • As a wife, mother, and physician, I understand the joys and challenges that come with balancing family, work, and personal well-being.

I look forward to helping you and your family find the support, understanding, and tools needed to thrive.
